Discovering The Magic of Disney

Our first trip to Disney was when our son was 4 and our daughter had just turned 2. It was the first visit for us all. Everyone said the kids were too young—but they could not have been more wrong! Little did we know then that was the start of a family bonding experience that would turn each of us into a Walt Disney World fan and Disney foodie.

There was so much to see and do in Walt Disney World that we barely scratched the surface. Once we got home, the kids could not stop talking about it. We had such a great time that we went back 6 months later. That was in 1999 and started a tradition of going to Disney World at least twice a year every year since. In 2001, we decided to join Disney Vacation Club (DVC) which has been perfect for our family. DVC has allowed us to visit Disney’s Aulani Resort and Spa in Hawaii several times and take a few Disney cruises.

As our children grew, their tastes grew, too. Getting a reservation for our favorite restaurant was a big a deal as getting a coveted FastPass. Besides our favorite dining spots, as Disney foodies, we always be sure to try a few new restaurants each time we visited.

Holding Onto The Magic through Disney Food

Now that they are young adults, our vacation styles have evolved too, but they still love going to Disney as much as ever. We are always on the lookout for new dishes and treats to satisfy the Disney foodie inside each of us. We are looking forward to exploring more Disney destinations such as Europe or Asia sometime in the future.

Regardless of where we go, each trip allows us to have quality family time together that we just can’t seem to get at home. Besides making new memories, it allows us to reconnect as a family.  And being Disney foodies gives us something to share together all year long.

In between our Disney trips, we’d read and research Disney food blog sites to satisfy our cravings. To that end, we’d often make the recipes from some of our favorite Disney restaurants. It started years ago making Disney Boardwalk Chocolate Pretzels. Later, it transformed into a main event — our annual Easter Sunday brunch. On the menu, we serve things like Crystal Palace’s Breakfast Lasagne, Boma’s Carrot Ginger Soup, Cinderella’s Stuffed French Toast to name a few. It’s become a family tradition.

Sharing The Magic with Disney Foodies, and Disney Fans

We’ve now ventured on a journey and started a Disney food blog to share those recipes with other Disney foodies like us. Subscribe to our YouTube channel to see the latest Disney dish demos. FAQ

Far from it. I am just an average cook at best. My kids are both better cooks than I am, probably out of necessity.

Kira considered culinary school to be a pastry chef  but decided to keep it as a passionate hobby. She’s a college senior majoring in biology.

Tommy has become a very adventurous eater and is up for trying new foods. He’s also a fan of small batch bourbon and crafted spirits and is our official bartender—when he’s home from grad school.

And Bernie,  my poor husband, gets to cleans up after the mess the rest of us makes. (He’s a saint). But he does get to reap the rewards of all our efforts.

We get them from many places. Some we have gotten in person from the Disney chefs. Others come from the web, official Disney cookbooks, and other Disney sources. We aim to post authentic Disney recipes as opposed to Disney copycat recipes.

If you have any of your own you’d like to share please send them to us.

We try to test as many recipes as possible. If photos or videos accompany the recipe, they are typically from our test kitchen, but some are from other sources such as Disney, or images we took of Disney food we ate. We will continue to post images and videos as we test the recipes.
